The event is our year-end fundraising push to benefit our programs in Haiti, India, Nepal, Uganda, and the United States. 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to our projects. We hope you will join us!
Many of our students in Haiti, India, and Uganda live in rural areas and must walk long distances to the nearest school, in some cases crossing rivers. In Haiti, our students travel an average of 8.4 kilometers to and from school each day. To be able to reach school in time for their morning classes, the children get up before dawn. Some of them have to help with domestic tasks before leaving their home in the morning. Tired students are unfocused and inattentive in class. In Haiti and Uganda we are providing transportation for students who live in remote areas. Your support will help provide our students with the resources they need to focus on their education and not worry about the long walk.
You are making a difference – one child at a time!
Just released! Brad Devins’ latest film Painting Port-de-Paix beautifully captures our work in Haiti. Experience what happens when artists travel to Port-de-Paix, Haiti with Trellis Arch’s team of volunteers to make a lasting impact on the community there. The imagery is unforgettable and the message is clear – everyone can make a difference in the life of a child,
The Problem: Every child should have access to nutritious food, clean water, a safe place to live, adequate medical care, and a quality education. In many places, all or some of these important aspects of survival are not available. The cycle of poverty continues to oppress millions of children worldwide who lack the things many of us take for granted.
Worldwide, nearly 800 million adults (10% of the world’s population) are considered functionally illiterate, with only basic or below-basic literacy levels in their native languages. Millions of children lack basic literacy and numeracy skills. Upward social movement is nearly impossible.
Education is the one thing that breaks the cycle of poverty and empowers young people in remarkable ways. Educated children become adults who can help themselves.
Our Solution: We fund the educational expenses of children living in extreme poverty. We believe every child has value and purpose; every child has something to offer; and every child can make a difference in the world if given the right resources.
