Education is the one thing that breaks the cycle of poverty and empowers young people in remarkable ways. In many places, access to nutritious food, clean water, a safe place to live, adequate medical care, and a quality education are not available. These children are focused on just surviving the day, and have barely given thought to their future.

What if we could give them a fighting chance? Just a small donation has a huge impact…like providing a child in India with a backpack full of supplies for the entire year, or a pair of shoes for walking to school, or repairing a classroom so that the mud walls won’t collapse during the rainy season.

The cycle of poverty continues to oppress millions of children around the world who lack the things many of us take for granted…like education. Worldwide, nearly 800 million adults (10% of the world’s population) are considered functionally illiterate, with only basic literacy levels in their native languages making upward social movement nearly impossible.
